Just finished getting this thing together. I am very new to blacksmithing and had bought a harbor freight 55 pound anvil to start with but wanted something better. Decided to build my own instead of buying. The face is 4140, horn is 1045 and the rest is mild steel. Pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s right around 100 pounds. Haven’t hardened yet but plan to soon. Anyone know if it needs to be tempered after hardening?
