I’ve been looking around here and there. And with getting more time on my hands between college ending, I’ve been trying to work more. But i use a small basin and crank fan, and I’ve been looking at gas ovens under the 450 usd range. Some with heat brick doors, others with 2 to 4 lines feeding the oven. I’m right now mainly focused on knives, blades, and the occasional decorative piece. So here I am, seeking this community out for guidance.
Have you looked into a Mathewson forge? Check them out.
If you can afford a bit more, my friend has this one and I have to say it is quite good. The side door is great for when you have a larger item, like a hammer or axe, and then there are openings on the two ends.
It was his daily for many years: https://amzn.to/2y723NM
However, if you’re looking for a bit cheaper, this one seems quite popular: https://amzn.to/3cDxM8k. I haven’t been able to use it, looks like it could use a coating of some sealant, but it seems affordable. I would say you 2 lines would be plenty for most projects.
