How to align the jaws of a leg vise?

Any tricks on how to align the jaws of a leg vise?

The front jaw is lower than the back jaw by about 1/8". Enough to make it really annoying…

I’ll get some photos of the vise up, hopefully you all can help me out

A few shots of my leg vise:

Mine was out of alignment too and I took it to my blacksmithing instructor for ideas. He wailed on it with a BFH until it was straightened out. I thought there would be more science to it. There wasn’t, just grunt.

No joke?

Huh… I don’t know if I could wail on mine. It’s hard to see in the pics, but the higher jaw is actually the leg part… It seems I’d need to raise the front jaw some how?

How was yours out of alignment?
