DuPont Model E Restoration

Hey everyone!

I recently picked up a DuPont Model E from a nearby blacksmith who is also a member of a guild I am. He had it in his shop for a while with a plan to restore it/go through it but never got around to it.

It was originally rigged for a line shaft. The fellow had bought quite a few things to rig it for a jack shaft, but not everything.

I decided to start video documenting it and posting it to youtube because I have never done anything like this before, and I’m looking to the community of blacksmiths for assistance with it - I’m also happy to answer any other questions people may have as I learn more and more.

So without further ado… Here is the youtube video

And my question to you all - have you ever restored a die before? How did you do it?

I put out episode 3:

After that, I decided, unfortunately, to back out of the deal. The amount of work required and my experience, as well as some other factors, made me come to the conclusion that this was not for me.

So unfortunately this is the last installment.
